Advocating for students who struggle to read or spell can be tricky.

My mom gut told me my child needed more support when it came to learning to read. The school told me things like "he is a boy," "he is not discrepant from his peers," "it's illegal to say dyslexia," "we don't know what tests to run for dyslexia." After three years of getting no where I knew it was time for a change. That is when I went back to school to become a dyslexia specialist and learn how to properly advocate for my child and yours.
